What is an SFI 3.2A/5 race suit?
An SFI 3.2A/5 race suit is a double-layer flame-resistant driving suit independently certified by the SFI Foundation to the 3.2A standard at the “/5” thermal level. The number is the TPP rating — roughly the seconds of protection before a second-degree burn, so a /5 gives about 10 seconds versus ~3 for a single-layer /1.
Because the protection comes from the layer count and the Nomex® fiber, an SFI-5 suit is what most sanctioned auto-racing series require — and what we build, fully custom, to your design and measurements.
